Jesus is the reason for the season

To me, the true meaning of Christmas is the birth of Jesus Christ. It conveys the first stage of God sacrificing his son, so that the world can be forgiven from their sins.

2 Corinthians 5:19 says ‘For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them.’

Christmas is a strong reminder of God’s love for us. The son of God was born through Virgin Mary, by the Holy spirit to reveal the nature of God, so that people can have a relationship with God, through Jesus Christ.

A relationship with God forms by reading the word of God (Bible) and letting the Holy Spirit direct you daily. That’s what Christianity is all about-a relationship with God through Jesus Christ, not a list of rules and regulations we have to abide to in order to be approved. Jesus saved us from all of that. He paid the price because he loves you regardless of your weaknesses and imperfections. That’s why there is nobody on this Earth that can love you, like God does: He loves everyone, even the ones that reject Him and don’t believe in Him. He is the creator of this world.

I’m so grateful for the gift of the Holy Spirit, which acts as my guide and counsellor every single day. When Jesus ascended to heaven to be with God The Father, he gave believers the gift of the Holy spirit, so that we can feel and hear God whilst we are on Earth.

It’s important that we go through life, with God. Every day, we should strive to be more like Jesus. God sees our heart, He knows if our hearts are pure and genuine, that’s why He does not punish us when we are not perfect. It’s not about perfection and it’s not just about our works & good deeds. Our hearts have to be right with God. It’s good to do good deeds but if you’re just focusing on deeds and never spending time with God by reading His word, you’re not forming a relationship with Him.

Christmas is about the birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, the light of the world.
